Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree To Be Lit Tonight

Get ready for some serious sparkle in midtown Manhattan! The 76-foot Norway Spruce from Shelton, Conn., will be illuminated tonight in New York City’s Rockefeller Center.

The 75-year-old tree will be covered in 45,000 multi-colored LED lights and topped with a 9 1/2-foot-wide Swarovski star.

To celebrate the momentous occasion, musical artists Mary J. Blige, the Goo Goo Dolls, Jewel and Leona Lewis will perform during the tree lighting ceremony. Today Show hosts Matt Lauer, Al Roker, Savannah Guthrie and Natalie Morales will also be on hand for the “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” celebration.
