So what’s the hot winter look over at Sassoon? It’s called Constructivist, and we are are loving everything about this “collection”. According to the company, Constructivist is a collection of utterly modern, minimalist looks that pay tribute to the relationship between cut and color by echoing fashion’s current mood of purity, sleekness and simplicity. They are a collection of opposites: steeply graduated backs combined with a long fall of hair at the front, short areas of hair at the temple set against fluidly graduated hair to create compelling visual contrasts. Cuts are squared off at the back, fringes sit on the round of the cheekbone, and heavy, triangular A-line bobs are deconstructed.
Constructivist color palette includes cool and warm browns that highlight the versatility of neutral hues. Hints of copper and iridescent, opaline blonde with soft lilac, silver and pale grey also comprise the palette to create contrast. To achieve a lustrous glow and emphasize the contrasts of light and shade, the colors are placed in subtle bands of muted tones, moving from dark into light and then dark again.
