Dustin Hoffman Auctions Off Precious Belongings
Veteran actor Dustin Hoffman is auctioning off a large collection of his most valuable possessions. The Nye & Co auction will run online until December 17 and features a diverse range of antiques and collectibles from movie paraphernalia (although not from his own cult classics) and luxury historical furniture.
Some of the more prominent pieces hitting the auction block are a mid-18th century Irish mahogany pier table, two autographed movie projectors with reels, black and white stills from “Lola” and a George III leather upholstered lounge chair. Other highlights are collections of Cartier jewelry, Baccarat crystal jewelry, Steuben Glass and furniture from the Qing Dynasty.
It’s clear “The Graduate” star has distinct taste and many passions. Recently cancer-free, Hoffman “is feeling great and is in good health,” according to his representative. Perhaps this large-scale auction is a cleansing… or maybe he is making more room for new treasures. Either way, this coveted collection will make many buyers very happy.
