Dori’s World: Julie Macklowe’s Birthday Riot Featuring Jetta

Patrick Julie Macklowe and VBEAUTE Birthday Riot

Julie Macklowe celebrated her birthday and the two-year anniversary of vbeauté at Avenue on Saturday night. Rocking it out in a glittery silver tuxedo jacket and leather skirt by St. Laurent, Julie Macklowe roused a RIOT at Avenue with routines by contortionists, cage dancers and a much anticipated surprise performance by her new favorite musical artist and friend all the way from London — JETTA. From the warmth of Miami, where she was writing songs with Pharrell, to frosty NYC, JETTA wowed Billy Macklowe. Some friends that braved the snowstorm to join the festivities, included Amalia and Adam Lindemann, Celerie Kemble, Christian Leone, David and Libby Mugrabi, Dayssi Olarte Kanavos, Eleanora Kennedy, NY State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, Harry Macklowe, Lava Records CEO Jason Flom, Jill Kargman, Liz Swig, Randy and Jan Slifka, Richard Kirshenbaum, Robert Marc, Sally and Michel Perrin, Stacey Bendet, Stephanie Hirsch, Susan Shin, Vivienne Tam, Yaz Hernandez and Zang Toi among others.

DJ Theory spun throughout the night as guests danced, nibbled on small bites and enjoyed signature Belvedere vodka “V-tinis.” A Glenmorangie Scotch Lounge warmed everyone up, especially Julie, whose preference is Glenmorangie 18 year, neat. Along with JETTA’s birthday song, the Dom Perignon flowed, and guests indulged in purple glitter “V” iced gluten-free cupcakes by Simply CARO. After I went to Bronson Van Wyck’s at the Plaza Hotel and saw DJ Mad Marj at Tonka.
