Haute 100 Update Miami: Gloria and Emilio Estefan Host 6th Annual “Feed A Friend” Thanksgiving Event At Bongos Cuban Café

Feed a Friend

Gloria and Emilio Estefan will be teaming up with local charities for the sixth year in a row to feed the homeless and families in transition at their Downtown Miami restaurant on Thanksgiving Day from 11am-3pm.

Bongos Cuban Café will be dishing up a Thanksgiving dinner like no other. Celebrity volunteers will be on hand to serve the traditional American classics: roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, and the like, as well as Cuban fixings like lechon asado, fried plantains and yucca in a flavorful mojo sauce. Live music and children’s activities will provide a sweet finish to a day of giving thanks.

“Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday,” says Gloria. “It’s about sharing family, food and love, which is why the “Thanksgiving Feed A Friend” is my favorite event that we do, offering a hot meal for the families that need it most. We are excited to support this event for the sixth year and look forward to many more.”

Bongos is hosting the event along with its sponsors, AARP, Baptist Health South Florida, Sedano’s Supermarkets, Florida Blue, and the Miami-Dade Homeless Trust, as well as its partners, Big Brothers & Big Sisters, Chapman Partnership and REMAR.

In the past five years, the event has served more than 10,000 meals to families in transition. The Cuban-American fusion holiday feast is always a memorable event for everyone involved.
