Local Aspen artists, it’s your time to shine: the Roaring Fork Open at the Aspen Art Museum returns for its 33rd year of showcasing valley residents in a month-long exhibit. This year there are 125 artists in the museum-wide exhibition, whose work has been individually selected and curated by Carbondale-based artist James Surls.

The exhibit runs through Oct. 27. In conjunction with the show, every Saturday the Aspen Art Museum will host free public programs, from 5 to 6 p.m., featuring local chefs, each of whom will invent a culinary dish inspired by an exhibition artwork of their choosing.

Oct. 5: Julia and Allen Domingos (Epicure)

Oct. 12: Pyramid Bistro

Oct. 19: Rustique Bistro

Oct. 26: Miles Angelo (Caribou Club)
