Cate Blanchett Mesmerizes at NY Film Festival Gala

Picture 1

The hauntingly beautiful Australian star, Cate Blanchett, nearly snapped necks as she caused attendees of the 51st annual New York Film Festival to do a double take of her nearly nude hued ensemble. The gleaming actress was being honored at the festival’s gala this year for her outstanding talents and career with a special spotlight on her new role in Woody Allen‘s film “Blue Jasmine.”

The actress transformed from her daytime look in all black to the elegantly crafted light pink lace Armani Prive dress that nearly blended in with her soft porcelain skin tone. The form fitting dress was mid-calf length with a deep neckline and off the shoulder detail. She paired the dress with nude Roger Vivier heels and a bright red lip.

The Film Society sponsored the gala and Executive Director Rose Kuo was ecstatic to offer praise, “In the year that many critics are hailing her most recent—and perhaps greatest—performance, the Film Society is delighted to celebrate the career of Cate Blanchett.” Kuo continued, “Ms. Blanchett has consistently mesmerized audiences with some of the boldest screen performances of the past twenty years.”

Allen’s film “Blue Jasmine” is already receiving a lot of praise leading up to the Oscars. In the motion picture, Blanchett emulates a New York socialite on the downfall after her husband, played by Alec Baldwin, is arrested for questionable business affairs. It’s hard to imagine this movie being anything short of brilliant with an actress so stunningly magnificent in a movie directed by one of the industry greats.
