August Real Estate Sales Shine in Aspen
Hot August nights turned into cool, hard cash, with Pitkin County real estate posting its strongest performance in five years, the Aspen Times reported. During August, 162 real estate transactions produced $138.45 million in total sales, which is 31 percent more than the same time last year, according to a report released by Land Title Guarantee Co.
Year to date, there is $750.10 million sales in Pitkin County, which is slightly down from the prior year. However, the number of real estate transactions is significantly up from 2012, with 912 compared to 441 last year.
The average single-family home price through August was down to $3.46 million, according to the report.
