It’s an iconic Manhattan-based restaurant beloved by Martin Scorsese, Jay-Z and Woody Allen and now, Rao’s has finally come to LA.
The eatery, which has been in existence for 117 years in NYC’s East Harlem neighborhood, has opened in Los Angeles’ off-the-beaten path ‘hood of south Hollywood.

Now located on 1006 Seward St., the former Hollywood Canteen space has been gutted and painted red with a dark wooden interior, white linen tablecloths and wreaths hanging on the walls.

Quintessential dishes like veal parmesan and spaghetti with marinara are prepared by Nicole Grimes, the executive chef who hailed from Rao’s at Caesar’s Palace.

Look for Frank Pellegrino Jr’s. eatery to become as much of an institution in Tinseltown as it is in the Big Apple.
