This morning while filming a local TV segment for NBC 6 on fashion, I received a message to my BlackBerry (yes, I still use the good ‘ol bb) that Nicholas Kirkwood, my darling friend was just acquired by LVMH. So what is a girl to do besides be uber happy for my CFDA award winning love? Well, I BBM’d him. I guess after all, some real deal people still do use that phone with a keypad.
What is more interesting? The fact that he was just bought out by LVMH or the fact that he is on my BBM? I think both are as equally as divine. Congrats Nikki.

Nicholas and I met through my great friend Kim Doura Murdoch two years ago in London. I ended up in his apartment with Beau Beasley and that was the beginning to a lovely friendship where we keep in touch if I am in Europe or when he is in Miami. On his last visit in early 2013 after his personal appearance at Saks Fifth Avenue, he and I went to dinner at SoHO Beach House’s Cecconi’s followed by some lovely cigarettes on the second floor.
I BBM’d him this morning, asking him if the rumor was true, and he replied “It’s true, I’m French now. X.”
