Hakkasan at the MGM Grand Hotel was a sight to see as A-list celebrities including Jennifer Lopez, Rosario Dawson, Kate Upton, Rita Ora and more along with turntable stars Calvin Harris, Nervo, Danny Avila, Rev Run and Ruckus among others, flooded through the doors to kick off the weekend on Thursday night.
As the night began, award-winning actress Rosario Dawson was spotted dining at Hakkasan along with three guests. Arriving around 11 p.m. Dawson dined on steamed red snapper in spicy assam sauce, pan-seared vegetable Shanghai dumplings, jasmine tea smoked beef short rib, Hakka noodle with mushrooms and Chinese chive and more while treating herself to the iconic cocktail, The Hakka. Following dinner, Dawson and her guests made their way up to the main room of the nightclub and onto the main stage where they danced to Calvin Harris’ renowned beats into the early hours of the morning.
It was a star-studded affair in the restaurant as international superstar Jennifer Lopez along with beau Casper Smart also treated themselves dinner. Dressed in a colorful tight mini dress with matching bright blue booties, the gorgeous star along with her group took their seats just after 11:30 p.m., and dined on a number of signature items such as the roasted silver cod with Champagne and Chinese honey, roasted Chilean sea bass with Chinese honey, stir-fry black pepper beef ribeye with merlot and topped off their meal with the exotic fruit platter. Lopez and her four guests sipped on Hakkasan’s signature cocktails including The Hakka before heading up to the nightclub.
As the group arrived at their VIP booth located on the main stage Lopez and Smart immediately had the party going as they danced atop of their booth and sang along to Calvin Harris’ heart-pumping hits. The multi-talented beauty appeared to be in good spirits as she mingled with her guests, posed for pictures and reunited with Harris in the DJ booth before making her way out around 2 a.m.
Just tables away in the restaurant was beautiful Sports Illustrated cover model Kate Upton and the stunning Victoria’s Secret model Selita Ebanks. Dining separately, the two were spotted enjoying their meals and also continued their evening as they made their way up to the main room of the nightclub. Ebanks dawning a flirty A-line black dress and Upton wearing a form fitting black and white patterned dress, joined Dawson on the main stage as they mingled with one another and partied the night away.
As the night continued, striking British singer-songwriter and Calvin Harris’ other half, Rita Ora appeared in the DJ booth. Looking more beautiful than ever in an eye-catching, full-length red lace gown, the talented starlet put on a surprise performance at 1:30 a.m. as she hopped atop of the DJ booth and sang for thousands of partygoers while Harris stood back in awe. The energy of the nightlife mecca erupted as they cheered for Ora.
Shortly after her spontaneous performance, the young star was joined by her good friend, model Upton in the DJ booth as they were spotted chatting and catching up while sipping on champagne and dancing to Harris’ hits. She also partied the night away with Liv and Mim of Nervo after their vivacious set.
As Calvin Harris wrapped up his set around 3:30 a.m., renowned artist DJ Ruckus made his way to the booth after finishing his set in the Ling Ling Club. Joined by close friend Swizz Beatz, the duo kept the party going and put on an impromptu performance. As Swizz Beatz took over the mic from atop of the DJ booth, Ruckus manned the decks and spun classic hits from the ’80s and today. Joining in on the madness, Upton jumped on stage next to Swizz Beatz as she sprayed the crowd with champagne and threw confetti into the air. Adding to the fun, Upton pulled Ora onto the stage to dance with her as the entire nightspot shouted with excitement.
Earlier in the evening the beautiful DJ duo Nervo took over the turntables as they got the party started in the main room while DJ Ruckus and iconic MC Rev Run put on an unrivaled set in the Ling Ling Club while rising electronic music star Danny Avila closed out the eventful evening with an energetic set.
