Celeb Spotting at Diane von Furstenberg at Fashion Week
Getting an invitation to Diane Von Furstenberg Show is like getting into Boom Boom Room 5 years ago. Her show is always some sort of A-list party. Among the front row were Carine Roitfeld, Anna Wintour, Grace Coddinton, Bill Cunningham, Linda Fargo, Graydon Carter, Rachel Zoe, Giovanna Battaglia, Andy Cohen, Jessica Alba, Paris and Nicky Hilton, Barbara Walters, Brad Goreski, Miroslava Duma, Leandra Medine, Aimee Song, Lily Kwong, Natalie Joox, to name a few.
First came the song of the summer, Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines”, then the beautiful Karen Elson followed in black matte diamond black printed wrap dress, very strong piece to debut the collection. Diane Von Furstenberg told me during the interview backstage that this collection surrounded with the idea of “oasis”; “Be your own oasis…an unexpected source of renewal, serenity and beauty”. This collection is very wearable, very strong, and very DVF. By the time soundtrack Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” hit, the show attendants started to dance and sing along. The crowd couldn’t hold it together anymore when Naomi Campbell strutted down the runway closing the show with knit macrame gold sleeveless shift dress. OMG, DVF Spring 2014 show was full of the unexpected!
