The London College of Fashion Returns to the Middle East this Autumn
The London College of Fashion (LCF) returns to the Middle East once again with its Short Courses program featuring high-profile and expert tutors and a range of new and exciting subjects. For the first time in the Middle East, two brand new courses will be in offer – Handbag Design and Fashion Drawing.
The Handbag Design course is ideal for those thinking about building their own collection. It teaches what is involved in creatively and practically producing a range of bags with coordinating purses or wallets. Students will start with researching and understanding the market, before exploring fabric selection, current trends in surface decoration, range building and where to manufacture the collection. The course tutor is Ann Saunders who has extensive experience across many areas of the fashion industry and runs her own accessories company working extensively with product sourcing in Europe and China She has also worked as a stylist and consultant on a number of television programs.
The practical Fashion Drawing course will help students explore drawing styles and techniques used in the fashion industry today. Tutor Ana Stankovic-Fitzgerald will show how to express designs and ideas figuratively. Through a series of innovative exercises the class will learn how to draw a fashion figure, sketch garments, and seamlessly combine figures with clothing. Stankovic-Fitzgerald is a practicing illustrator and has had freelance commissions published online, in magazines, books, as advertisements and in corporate literature.
The courses will be held from 20 September to 1 October at the Vida Hotel in Downtown Dubai. For more information visit www.fashion.arts.ac.uk/ middle-east or call + 971 509150759.
