Madonna Named Top-Earning Celebrity of the Year

Madonna‘s latest album, MDMA, may not have topped the music charts, but the 55-year-old pop star is still reining supreme. According to a new ranking by Forbes, Madonna was named the highest earning celebrity of the year, bringing in $125 million between June 2012 and June 2013.

To compile the list, the magazine polled agents, managers, producers and other in-the-know folks to come up with estimates for each celebrity’s entertainment-related earnings.

Besides impressive record sales, the “Material Girl” also boasts her own clothing line, fragrance and profitable investments in companies like Vita Coco. Her recent world tour also grossed $305 million and earned her the Top Touring Award at the Billboard Music Awards.
