deitch_int-600x337The art world is in an uproar over Jeffrey Deitch’s decision to step down as MOCA’s director, and one man has even made a video in his defense.

That man would be Jesse Dylan, the son of iconic singer Bob Dylan.

Jesse debuted a six-minute film on the Huffington Post last week touting Deitch’s tenure.

“I was struck by how willing he was to embrace the new. He was the rare person who had created his own world of ideas. He wanted to counter our expectations of art with the unexpected. He wanted us to see street art, to show us young artists in Los Angeles, ” Dylan wrote.

He urges viewers to take a moment to honor Deitch and “embrace an alternative vision of art.”
