Haute 100 NY Update: Stewart Rahr Donates $3 Million to Prostate Cancer Foundation

Stewart Rahr is standing up to cancer! The New York native made a $3 million dollar donation at a Hamptons gathering hosted by Michael Milken for the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

As Milken read the names of the night’s top benefactors, the crowded erupted with applause when learning about Rahr’s generous donation. Calling him “the modern day Mr. Tipton,” Milken thanked Rahr for his contribution to cancer research. “We appreciate everything you do,” he explained. “Not just for us, but for everyone.”

Other guests at the event included John Paulson, David Koch, Steven Schwartzman, Richard & Carol Lefrak, Larry Gagosian, Eddie Trump, and former New York Governor David Patterson. The event, which was produced by Colin Cowie, featured a lively performance by Hall & Oates and delicious food by Burke.

“I am pleased to be able to help the Prostate Cancer Foundation and assist my friend Michael Milken in this vital initiative,” Rahr said in a statement.

Earlier this month, Rahr gave Make-A-Wish $10 million, the largest individual gift in the organization’s 32-year history. His funding will help Make-A-Wish achieve its goal of granting 10,000 wishes to New York-area children with life-threatening medical conditions.
