Haute 100 LA Update: Johnny Depp in Talks to Star in ‘Mortdecai’
Johnny Depp is in negotiations to star in Mortdecai, a big screen adaptation of Kyril Bonfiglioli‘s The Great Mortdecai Moustache Mystery.
In the Lionsgate adaptation, Depp will play the title role of Charles Mortdecai, a debonair art dealer who, according to the studio, “must traverse the globe armed only with his good looks and special charm in a race to recover a stolen painting rumored to contain the code to a lost bank account filled with Nazi gold.”
The 50-year-old actor will also produce the film with his Infinitum Nihil partner Christi Dembrowski and Andrew Lazar.
