Ever wonder what the most powerful leaders, business execs and celebrities keep on their desks? Well, we’re about to tell you. Our biweekly “What’s on My Desk” feature will take a look inside the offices and at the desks of the world’s most influential power players.

This week we’ve featured Eric Villency, the CEO and Principal of Villency Design Group (VDG), an architectural, interior and product design company that was founded by his grandfather, Maurice Villency, more than 80 years ago. Recently, Eric and VDG have developed large-scale design projects for properties, including the Ritz Carlton Palm Beach, Delta Airlines Crown Room at Miami International Airport and Citifield’s Club Level Luxury Suites. VDG has also done a few high profile product designs for the CFDA, SoulCycle (their acclaimed indoor cycling bike), Equinox, eBay and Organic Avenue among others. Here is a look at the items on Eric’s desk:

·         Midcentury chairs hand made by Grandfather Maurice Villency.  “It would be a tragedy if someone spilled their macchiato on them- but they inspire me every day.”

·         Artist rendering of one of our old furniture showrooms- “I redeveloped this and an adjacent property into @250 boutique retail development in Roslyn New York.”

·         Art Deco lighter- a promotional gift Maurice used to give to his clients.

·         Wallpaper featuring custom graphic print designed by VDG.   “Our design team creates unique patterns for many of design projects.”
