This weekend luxury watchmaker Longines acted in its role as the Official Watch and Timekeeper of the Belmont Stakes, the third and final leg of the Triple Crown of horse racing. Longines was on hand at the prestigious race to time “The Test of Champions” at Belmont Park on Saturday, June 8, where Cot Campbell’s horse Palace Malice came in first.
Following the race, the manufacture awarded timepieces from the Longines Saint-Imier collection to Campbell, trainer Todd A. Pletcher and jockey Mike E. Smith in the winner’s circle after Palace Malice’s exciting finish. The manufacture was also featured prominently around Belmont Park in their role as Official Timekeeper and Watch of the Belmont Stakes, with a large Longines chronometer at the finish line.
Throughout the day, Longines celebrated the famous race-day style of Triple Crown events by picking the most elegantly dressed women at the Belmont Stakes. The judges were Charles Villoz, the VP of Sales for Longines, and US Brand Manager Jennifer Judkins, who have previously chosen the best-dressed at prestigious equestrian events like The Royal Ascot, Prix de Diane Longines and the Dubai World Cup.
