London: Monty’s Wine Bar & Restaurant Opens

There are two things you can never have enough of — money and good wine bars. And luckily, London has just added another fantastic wine bar to its repertoire. Monty’s Wine Bar & Restaurant is located in the heart of London’s West End, just hidden out of sight from the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street. The restaurant will serve a selection of Italy’s finest cichetti, as well as a delectable array of Italian dishes such as smoked swordfish carpaccio, zucchini flowera filled with ricotta cheese and mint and homemade tagliolini with fresh crab and bottagra.

But of course the real reason to visit Monty’s is for the food and wine pairings. One of London’s most esteemed sommeliers, Antonio Cerilli (formerly of Le Pont de la Tour and Loconda Locatelli), has chosen an impressive selection of Italian wines and proseccos and he will be on hand to help diners wade through the many tempting selections. Because of its convenient location, it’s the perfect place for work lunches as well as dinners, but locals are excited about the regular wine and cheese tastings, which will feature Italy’s most recognised wine and food regions — from Piedmont in the North to Sardinia in the South.
