‘After Midnight’ Hits Broadway in the Fall

Cotton Club Parade

After Midnight, the famous theatrical production that salutes the beloved Duke Ellington‘s time at Harlem’s Cotton Club nightclub in the ’20s and ’30s, will offer jazz aficionados a night of ‘midnight music’ this autumn. Downtown at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, the Broadway show will revive fan favorites in new performances.

Last year at New York City Center, the show appeared off-Broadway as Cotton Club Parade under the direction and choreography of Warren Carlyle and musical influence of Wynton Marsalis. Much is to be announced, including casting and musicians, but songs “Stormy Weather” and “I’ve Got the World on a String” are certain. Fantasia Barrino fans can rejoice to hear that her name is swirling around the show, considering her recent and mysterious announcement of her autumnal return to Broadway.

After September, you can see After Midnight on Broadway in October.
