British designer Zaeem Jamal recently launched his Spring/Summer 2013 collection at an exclusive event on board a private yacht in Dubai.
The brand, which was established only in 2009, already has showrooms in London, Los Angeles and Dubai and has been worn by celebrities including Vanessa Hudgens and Melora Hardin. The British-born designer comes from a family that has been in the fashion industry for many generations; his talent and passion for the business have thus come as no surprise. Jamal, who is the pioneer and Founder of the brand himself, has created designs which are innovative and special because they cater to how the wear feels. He merges energy and spiritual philosophies into his clothing ranges by incorporating his strong belief and passion that the kind of clothes we wear will ultimately impact the way we feel. Jamal’s collections are a fusion of energy dynamics and spiritual philosophies embedded into exquisitely made couture dresses.”We do not just offer a wardrobe of clothes, but a wardrobe of experiences,” he says. Each piece that he creates is not only pleasing aesthetically, but also embodies philosophically and spiritual uplifting elements.
Jamal’s previous and current collections are a true display of beautiful, luxurious evening and swim wear that have been crafted using the finest, purest, silk fabrics in an array of colors. He uses detailed hand embroidery and a variety of semiprecious gem stones to enhance the designs and create individual pieces that have more to them than meets the eye. The current Spring/Summer 2013 collection is no different in terms of the exceptional and luxurious quality it offers, but this time it takes inspiration from ancient Egypt.
The Egyptian influence is highly prominent in the new collection which ingeniously incorporates the fashion trends of Egyptian Queens and aristocracy to then meld them into luxurious collections for today’s modern and distinguished women. Also launched, was the Camelot collection which similarly refers to a specific cultural and historic period, this time to Middle Ages in Great Britain.
Jamal has also designed shoes and bags which have been handcrafted using the finest craftsmanship to form a key part of the collection. The handbag collection is handmade in Northern Italy and each bag has the unique feature of the brand’s signature lining which encompasses the ‘flower of life’ pattern to symbolize regeneration. On the front of each bag is a small metal compartment that has been carefully inscribed with the same flower of life emblem which can be opened to hold a collection of crystals specially selected from the in-store collections to add another element of distinctiveness and symbolism for the wearer.
The beautiful and stylish hand-embroidered shoes which are also made by master shoe-makers in Florence, have been designed with the ultimate comfort in mind using careful padding and specially researched angles and arches which makes them not only beautiful, but practical – a rare find for high heels! A wide range of shoes are available including pumps, ballerinas and heels in a selection of leathers, suede, satins and fine Italian leather skins.
Jamal’s collections are breathtaking in material and design – but most importantly, reflect the great connection between the past and the present through culture and art and also, most importantly, to the energy of the wearer.
