Tyler Perry Accepts Humanitarian Award at ‘Shall We Dance’ Gala
Tyler Perry was the guest of honor over the weekend at the “Shall We Dance” gala, presented by the Coalition for at Risk Youth (CARRY).
The director, alongside Janie Bradford, Laura Hunter and Dr. Jerome Porath, were presented with Orchid Humanitarian awards by the nonprofit organization, which is dedicated to changing the lives of foster youth suffering from skin disorders and physical illnesses.
The evening included a cocktail reception, speeches, an awards presentation and performances from Thelma Houston and Brenda Russell at The Beverly Hilton.
“Shall We Dance”, the event’s theme, celebrated an intimate evening with Motown. Guests included Angela Basset, Finola Hughes, Ian Buchanan, Lisa Vanderpump, Ken Todd and Kimberly Elise.
