Steven Sebring’s REVOLUTION Draws Art and Fashion Crowd

Last week artist Steven Sebring presented Revolution, a new four dimensional exploration, at New York City’s 69th Regiment Armory. The exhibition, a photographic investigation of light from multiple perspectives through time, featured photographs, sculpture, interactive media, and a collection of films that came together in a visual symphony of art.
Guest included Liliana Cavendish, Celia Dean, James Kaliardos, Lenny Kaye, Ryan McGinley, Nicole Miller, Zac Posen, Parker Posey, Coco Rocha, Helen Lee Schifter, Jesse Smith, Patti Smith and Gigi Solomon were transfixed to an overhead 40×60 screen on which images of Sebring’s muse model Coco Rocha and others danced, posed, and performed to music in a series of photographs and videos.
About Steven Sebring
Steven Sebring, photographer, filmmaker and multimedia artist, is known for a distinctive style that merges raw realism with high-end fashion. Over the last two decades, Sebring photographed and directed international campaigns for Coach, DKNY, Joe Fresh, MAC, Maybelline, Ralph Lauren and Reed Krakoff. Sebring collaborated with rock legend Patti Smith on an 11-year documentary, Dream of Life, a full-length feature and Sebring’s directorial debut. The film, a plunge into the philosophy and artistry of the cult icon, won a 2008 Sundance Award for Best Cinematography and earned a 2010 Primetime Emmy nomination. Revolution is Sebring’s third exhibition following Illumination in 2011 and Objects of Life in 2009. Sebring’s published works include Dream of Life (2009), Lalanne (2006) and Bygone Days (2005).
