A staggering $2.5 million was raised at the Museum of Contemporary Art’s annual Yessss! gala on April 20. The evening was in honor of the first major U.S. museum retrospective of works by Swiss-born artist Urs Fischer. The gala drew hundreds of luminaries from the worlds of art, design, architecture, fashion, film, politics and music including Eli Broad, Eva and Michael Chow, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Charlotte Rampling, Julian Schnabel, Hedi Slimane, Owen Wilson and Gus Van Sant. In keeping with the kitschy theme of the evening, the 650+ crowd donned Hawaiian leis during the Wolfgang Puck-catered dinner to watch the US C Trojans Marching Band and 80s band The Go-Go’s perform. A special Ferrari valet area was also available to accommodate attendees arriving via Ferrari.
