Eva Longoria is an admitted foodie, which is why she was the perfect choice to host an event celebrating the discovery of a new flavor.

On Monday evening, the stunning 38-year-old star presented Lay’s “Do Us a Flavor” contest at her chic Hollywood eatery, Beso.

The restaurateur, actress and advocate sat down with Haute Living to discuss her own personal food cravings and why she’s just as spicy as you might assume.

Tell us about your involvement with Lay’s.

I just finished the “Do Us a Flavor” campaign which engaged consumers to pick the next great flavor. The winner won a million dollars! It’ pretty life changing and insane. There were nearly 4 million flavor options, and the contest lasted about a year. Cheesy Garlic Bread won.

If you were a food, what would you be and why?

Definitely a potato chip. I don’t have a sweet tooth  — I crave potato chips, olives, peanuts and pretzels.

What’s your favorite food to personally make?

Mexican food, because I’m spicy! I cook a lot of Mexican food because that’s what I grew up with. I like preparing fish and vegetable, but I’m not big on starches.

Why did you decided to get involved in the restaurant business?

I’m a big foodie and I’m a big cook. I think cooking is one of the most personal things you can share with somebody. I wanted to be able to share that with more people. The first Beso I opened is a great extension of who I am. Service is very important to me.

What’s your favorite go-to spot in LA?

Chateau Marmont. It’s right by my house, so it’s convenient, and the service is incomparable. It’s like a second family to me — everybody knows me over there.
