Aspen Mayoral and Council Election on Tuesday

Temps are cold outside, but Aspen’s mayoral and city council races are heating up, with Election Day on Tuesday. There are six candidates running for the mayoral positions and four candidates vying for two vacant city council seats. Four of the mayoral candidates–Adam Frisch, Derek Johnson, Steven Skadron and Torre–are current council members. Maurice Emmer and LJ Erspamer are also running for mayor.

On the council side, Ann Mullins, Jonny Carlson, Dwayne Romero and Art Daily are looking to fill two openings, which will be vacated by Torre and Derek Johnson. If neither Frisch nor Skadron become mayor, they can still keep their seats on council.

Mayor Mick Ireland is stepping down due to term limits after 20 years of public service. Previously, he served on the Pitkin Board of County Commissioners.
