In London: David Bowie Is

7A5C7641

David Bowie Is is what everyone in London is buzzing about. The new exhibit at the Victoria & Albert museum is the first international retrospective of David Bowie’s extraordinary career. Love him or hate him, you can’t deny he has had a very interesting career, one that has spanned over five decades.

The museum was given unprecedented access to the David Bowie Archive, which contains more than 7,000 pieces of memorabilia, and the exhibit works to explore his creative processes. Bowie became a household name through his work not only as talented musician, but as a creative, innovative performer. He was a master of reinvention before anyone had even heard of Madonna or Lady Gaga, so truth be told, respect must be paid.

The exhibition contains stage costumes, set designs, handwritten lyrics, photos, music instruments, artwork — everything that made up what Bowie was/is as a cultural icon. And all of this just in time for his latest album release, so yes, he’s still got it.

David Bowie Is will be on until August 11, 2013.
