Encore! Aspen Santa Fe Ballet Wraps Up Season
Aspen Santa Fe Ballet dancers returned from their inaugural performance in Russia on Tuesday, and this Saturday they wrap up their winter season with an encore performance of their February show. The program features Jiri Kylián’s poignant “Return to a Strange Land,” Alejandro Cerrudo’s striking new ballet “Last,” and Trey McIntyre’s seductive “Like a Samba.” The show starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Aspen District Theatre on Saturday, March 16.
In Russia, the troupe was greeted with a standing ovation for its debut on Theatre Square. The Aspen-based group was founded 16 years ago, and has grown more prestigious in its depth and performance each year. Veteran dancer Sam Chittenden, who has been with ASFB for 15 years, will take his final bow after the performance on Saturday. For tickets, visit aspenshowtix.com.
