Before Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez created Proenza Schouler, there was Badgley Mischka. Founded by Mark Badgley and James Mischka in 1988, the line was one of the first dual-designer brands. Now, the company’s founders have made another stylish collaboration – they’re wed!
The duo met while studying at Parsons School of Design in New York, and were drawn together by their shared aesthetic of 1940s Hollywood glamour. After spending time separately designing for other labels, they started their own line. In the years since, Badgley Mischka has become a red-carpet staple, cropping up on Hollywood’s most beautiful, including Jennifer Garner, Julia Roberts, Kate Winslet, Taylor Swift, and Sarah Jessica Parker.
Mark and James confirmed today that they were after 28 years together, not only as designers but also as partners.
