Al Gore‘s commitment to the environment hasn’t gone unnoticed: the UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability feted the former Vice President at their second annual gala this week.
Gore, as well as Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and Environmental Media Association co-founder Lyn Lear were both honored at the March 5th ceremony held at the Beverly Hills home of Jeanne and Anthony N. Pritzker.
More than 350 guests attended the star-studded event, including Barbra Streisand, Warren Beatty, Annette Bening, Courteney Cox, Sumner Redstone, Jeff Goldblum, Zach Braff, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Larry King and JJ Abrams, as well as Alan and Cindy Horn.
Actress Amy Smart and husband Carter Oosterhouse of Million Dollar Rooms emceed the event, which raised more than $1 million to benefit IoES. Auctioneer Grant Snyder hosted a unique live auction which featured a one week stay in a private villa at the beachfront Amanpuri resort in Thailand; an autographed Fender Sting Guitar with a meet and greet Sting concert package; an autographed Bruce Springsteen guitar; and a Verengo Solar custom installed solar system.
The evening’s entertainment was provided by Jason Mraz and Sarah Silverman.
