Michelle Obama, VP Joe Biden Expected in Aspen this Weekend

First lady Michelle Obama and Vice President Joe Biden are expected to visit Aspen this Presidents’ Day weekend, the Aspen Daily News reported. Obama came to Aspen a year ago with her daughters for a ski vacation, and stayed at the home of Jim and Paula Crown, who own the Aspen Skiing Co. The Crowns also own a home near Buttermilk–one of four area ski mountains under the Aspen Skiing Co. umbrella–and the Obamas hit the slopes on this beginner hill. In July 2011, Obama made a speech at a fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee and President Obama’s 2012 presidential campaign held at the Crowns’ home.

During his visit in 2011, Biden made an appearance at the opening ceremonies for the National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic in Snowmass Village. He is expected to stay near Snowmass Village on this trip.
