DJ Blackout Performs at Movida
Dubai’s popular nightclub Movida has announced that DJ Blackout will play in Dubai’s favorite club on Friday 22 February. Winston Thomas, better known by his stage name BlackOut or DJ BlackOut is Founder and CEO of BlackOut Movement and an American Grammy Nominated record producer, engineer and composer.
Movida continues to showcase some of the most infamous names in the music industry. A native New Yorker who has been playing on the decks from an early age, after extensive touring with various artists such as Jada Kiss, MIMS and others, Blackout moved to Florida where he began to DJ at hot spots in Miami including Level aka Mansion, Crave and Goddess. This is also where he handed Ja Rule a beat CD, which landed him his first commercial release in 2003 on Ja Rule’s Blood In My Eye album.
In 2005, BlackOut started his own company BlackOut Movement and went on to produce a number of artists such as Jim Jones, Diplomats Fabolous, Bun B, Trina,Kymani Marley, Serani and Don Omar. He also developed and produced Jason Derulo; produced a number of songs for MIMS including the smash single/remix “This Is Why I’m Hot” as well as produced Nicki Minaj including the 2012 highly controversial performance Roman Holiday. BlackOut is now currently signed to Minaj’s Pink Friday label/management. This past year was a particularly big one for Blackout with the artist winning a Latin Grammy for his work with Don Omar and also winning his first American Music Award for his work with Nicki Minaj.
We’re excited to experience DJ BlackOut’s groovy beats in Dubai!
