Behind the Scenes: Our Beauty Diary From Brooke Shields’ Haute Living Cover Shoot

Untitled-52

Those brows! Those eyes, those lips, that face! Brooke Shields is a true icon, with a look that has defined our notion of beauty since her modeling debut at just 11 months. Now, at 47, the mother of two will see her face back on television, having recently signed on to season seven of the hit show Army Wives. So what products do you use on such a famous face? Haute Fashion has the scoop, and we’re taking you behind the scenes of Brooke’s cover shoot for Haute Living’s February/March 2013 New York issue.

The actress arrived on set looking downtown cool in a simple tee, leather pants and moto boots, and happily sipped a coffee while makeup artist Marni Burton, hairstylist Brian Magallones and manicurist Myrdith Leon-McCormack got to work. A natural beauty, Brooke arrived at the shoot without a stitch of makeup. Burton, whose mood board called for a high-fashion look featuring a bold lip, started with 3lab M Cream and 3lab Super Eye Treatment, applied with Clarisonic’s Opal Sonic Infuser. Next, Burton used Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk with a foundation brush, smoothing and blending until she achieved a luminous finish. At the corners of the mouth, Burton used Clarins’ Instant Light Brush-On Perfector as a highlighter, before setting it all with Nars’ Loose Powder. Burton used Nars’ The Multiple in Copacabana as a dewy blush on the apples of the cheeks, and to emphasize the cheekbones. For the eyes, Burton started with the translucent MAC Cosmetics Vanilla Eyeshadow before lining the upper and lower lids with a Chanel Le Crayon Kôhl. After curling the lashes, Burton used Diorshow Mascara to create a plush, glamorous look. Brooke’s famous eyebrows were brushed and lightly darkened with Chanel’s Crayon Sourcils Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil. Finally, Burton applied Chanel’s Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Color Lipstick in #98 Coromandel with a compact lip brush.
