The Sundance Diaries Day 4: Harvey Weinstein Throws One Heck of a Superbowl Playoffs Party

One of the hautest parties at the Sundance Film Festival last Sunday didn’t belong to an actual film, though a studio head honcho was its host.

None other than Harvey Weinstein threw a football viewing party to watch the NFL playoff, the Giants/49ers game, in particular.

He, along with billionaire Ron Burkle, put on the event at his favorite haunt of the Stein Eriksen Lodge. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Ty Burrell were among the attendees.

The irony that football is a central theme in the Weinstein-produced, Oscar-nominated film Silver Linings Playbook is not lost on us.

The Paige Hospitality Group also threw a football viewing party put on by the folks behind the Ainsworth. Attendees included Kristen Bell, Paris Hilton, Allison Brie, Lil’ Jon, Adrian Grenier, James Franco, Wyatt Russell, Ahna O’Rielly, Jesse Williams and Jack Huston.

CAA threw Sundance’s most risque party at the Claim Jumper space which included pole-dancing burlesque dancers via Simon Hammerstein‘s The Act LV, a a saucy nightclub located in Las Vegas’ Palazzo Hotel. Among the assembled crowd of agents and media types were guests Nicole Kidman and the newly pregnant Evan Rachel Wood. The former also attended a dinner for her Sundance film, Stoker, presented by Grey Goose Blue Door at the Samsung Galaxy Lounge.

While Rooney Mara, Casey Affleck and Aaron Paul premiered Ain’t Them Bodies Saints, Julie Delpy attended a dinner for his Before Midnight as did Michael C. Hall and Daniel Racliffe for Kill Your Darlings at Village at the Lift.
