Photos from the Dom Perignon Rose Vintage 2002 Declaration in Istanbul

Last week, from around the world joined Chef de cave Richard Geoffroy of Dom Pérignon in Istanbul for the declaration of the new Rosé Vintage, Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage 2002.

It all began with a tasting at Ciragan Palace with Richard Geoffroy, a tour of the traditional spice market in which guests explored the different spices such as saffron, rose and amber; as well as a workshop at the Contemporary Art Center Salt Galata with perfumer for the house of Guerlain, Thierry Wasser, who created the fragrance “Rose Nacrée du Désert” and introduced its essential components.

The trip concluded with a gala dinner at Esma Sultan Mansion in which all senses and experiences of the day were woven together. Jean-François Piège, the renowned chef of Thoumieux, created an exclusive menu to shine a light on the paradoxes of Rosé 2002. Created with opposed ingredients, each of the courses expressed the duality of the wine with unexpected mixes of textures, colors and food combinations.
