Matisyahu and Ky-Mani Marley Mellow Out Over X Games

Over the Winter X Games weekend, the Marley Safehouse is a requisite stop for athletes, party-goers and everyone in-between. This weekend, it’s also on the list for reggae, hip-hop artists Matisyahu and Ky-Mani Marley, who both have scheduled performances at the pop-up club inside the Crystal Palace. Hasidic rapper Matisyahu takes the stage on Saturday, Jan. 26, and Ky-Mani Marley, the second youngest of Bob Marley’s 11 children, plays on Sunday, Jan. 27.

The Marley Safehouse changes locations every year during X Games. The venue offers a laid-back atmosphere in which guests hang out on plush couches and sample Marley’s Mellow Mood products. This year, it’s at the Crystal Palace, 300 E. Hyman Ave. It’s open to the public during the day, and closed for private events–like the reggae shows–at night. Red, green and yellow lights adorn the historic building’s facade meaning the safehouse isn’t so secret.

Grammy award nominee Matisyahu is in the middle of an acoustic tour, and Marley has a new album set to be released later this year.
