Wolfgang Puck doesn’t cry over spilled milk (or sugar, as it were); when longtime pastry chef Sherry Yard broke the news she was leaving the Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group after almost twenty years, he simply found a replacement.
That replacement is Della Gossett of Charlie Trotter’s who moonlights as a pastry chef instructor at the award-winning French Pastry School in Chicago.
Says Puck of his sweet new lady: “I already know [Gossett’s] amazing talent and have tasted many of her amazing desserts when she worked at Charlie Trotter’s, one of my favorite restaurants. […] I know she will make a great impact at Spago and will create new, delicious, and exciting desserts.”
Yard will be staying on at the newly renovated Spago through mid-January, whereupon she will be re-opening Culver City’s Helms Bakery with chef Sang Yoon.
