Snowmass Club Set for New Ownership

The Snowmass Club has been in the Aspen Skiing Co. family for 23 years, but it’s on its way toward joining the Toll Golf world, the Aspen Daily News reported today. The semi-private golf and tennis club, which includes an 18-hole Jim Engh-designed course, is set to trade hands in January after the company signed a letter of intent. The sale also includes the facilities and club, but not the condos and homes that surround the course.

Toll Golf is part of Toll Brothers Inc., a Pennsylvania-based company that builds golf communities around the country. This is its first project in Colorado. There is no immediate plan to change the course or staffing, the company reported.

SkiCo officials said the sale would allow their company to focus more on its skiing operations. There are roughly 1,000 golf club members, and a staff of 200 to 275 during the season.

The sale price is undisclosed but the Pitkin County Assessor’s Office has the property valued at $17 million, according to the Daily News.
