Robert Wan, one of the leading distributors of Tahitian pearls, unveiled his latest collection for 2013 ‘The treasures of Robern Wan’ in Dubai yesterday. Wan’s mantra ‘pearls are the perfect symbol of feminity’ became evident on inspection of his display of magnificent masterpieces.
The collection of sautoirs, bracelets and rings have been inspired by Wan’s love affair with the Island of Marutea as well as the verdant beauty of the islands of French Polynesia. It is here where Wang cultivates his pearls to perfection. The glorious gems come in an array of striking colors ranging from pure snow to rose and royal gold as well as silver. These rainbow of natural colors express the wonders of the lagoons, sunsets and birds inherent in Marutea.
Amazingly enough, the colors of the pearls have not been tampered with – most surely a sign of nature at its finest. The pearl oysters are carefully monitored from their birth for about five years in order to harvest such beautiful creations. A sautoir with pearls in perfect symmetry and similar colour may therefore take months or years to create.
Audrey Tcherkoff, CEO of Robert Wan Middle East intends to establish the brand as the ‘ultimate pearl producer in the region’. Her passion for pearls began five years ago when she submerged herself in the stories of the underwater world by Tahitian lagoons.
