JAS Cafe: Jazz with Altitude

Tucked into the Little Nell’s candle-lit basement is a true musical treat. A five-star hotel is an unsuspecting place for a jazz lounge, but the JAS Cafe has transformed the space into an intimate venue that hosts some of the world’s greatest jazz musicians. New York Nightlife Award for “Outstanding Jazz Vocalist” Allan Harris takes the stage tonight and Friday, Dec. 28, for a series of shows in the club’s eight-concert season. Harris is a jazz guitarist and vocalist who crosses into rock, blues and soul. He plays two shows nightly, at 7 and 9 p.m. Tickets are $35.

Presented by Jazz Aspen Snowmass, the JAS Cafe lineup continues with Catherine Russell (Jan. 25-26), Eliane Elias (Feb. 8-9), Curtis Stigers (Feb. 15-16), Monty Alexander (Feb. 28-March 2), Tony Mondaco (March 15-16) and Pedrito Martinez (March 29-30).
