Chef Thomas Keller Shares Parisian Food Memories in New Book

Thomas Keller, the culinary mastermind behind Per Se and The French Laundry, opens up about his childhood food preferences and his time in France in his latest book, Bouchon Bakery. As with his other four books, his latest effort is a collaboration, having co-written it with his top pastry chefs Sebastien Rouxel and Matthew McDonald, along with food writers Susie Heller, Michael Ruhlman and Amy Vogler.

In addition to providing recipes for Keller’s acclaimed TKOs and Oh Ohs (his take on Oreos and Hostess’s Ho Hos), the book highlights the French classics he fell in love while apprenticing in Paris including baguettes, macaroons, millefeuilles and tartes aux fruits.

Beyoncé Knowles Signs $50 Million Deal With Pepsi

Pop superstar Beyoncé Knowles just inked a $50 million deal with Pepsi. The pop mega-star’s new campaign with the company is described as a hybrid project that will include standard advertising like commercials as well as a multimillion-dollar fund to support the singer’s chosen creative projects. “Pepsi embraces creativity and understands that artists evolve,” Beyoncé said. “As a businesswoman, this allows me to work with a lifestyle brand with no compromise and without sacrificing my creativity.”

The campaign will coincide with the release of the singer’s next album, which has no title or date so far, but is expected in 2013. Following her performance at the Pepsi-sponsored Super Bowl halftime show in New Orleans on February 3, Beyoncé will appear in a global TV commercial for the company entitled “Live for Now.” Her face will also be featured on a limited-edition line of soda cans.

Lauren began her endeavor five years ago by creating the FEED bag, a messenger bag emblazoned with the number 1 to signify that the sale would feed one child in school for a year. Today, the FEED project includes an entire product line that ranges from custom handmade tote bags to gold trimmed metallic Christmas stockings.

Fashion designers have recently begun taking their skills to a whole other level of creativity. It seems that the new trend in the fashion world is having notable fashion designers revamp hotel suites around the world. Diane von Furstenberg recently dressed a Penthouse Suite in Hayman, Australia with her own personally designed furnishings.
