George Lucas made headlines when it was announced that, not only was he selling Lucasfilm to Disney, but that a seventh Star Wars film was about to be made. But how did this hush-hush deal manage to remain a secret in Hollywood?
According to Disney chief Alan Horn, the formula was quite simple. “We threatened everybody with a blast from the Death Star!” he joked at a recent party in Beverly Hills.
The studio chairman added: “But really, I think everybody was mature about it. It’s important to keep these things confidential, so people just kept their mouths shut.”
