Green Fashion: Eco Future at Manarat Al-Saadiyat

Engaging and thought-provoking, Eco Future tackles the challenging theme of how human beings can survive on an evolving planet. Taking place on the Manarat Al-Saadiyat, the exhibition explores the issues of diminishing global resources, healthy living, climate change and other ways in which we can build a sustainable future.

The show is divided into six sections  – Drinking, Eating, Enjoying, Moving, Building and Future City, all of which look at how changing climates and resources can affect people’s lives. In an interactive spirit, visitors are guided through the show by four characters – Yas, Moza, Ali and Sara. With
them, visitors will explore new places to find water for a future city, trade food for dinner and explore shopping in the future, among other activities.   “Eco Future is inspired by the future plans and projects of Abu Dhabi, some of which are already underway,” said His Excellency Mubarak Al Muhairi, Director General, TCA Abu Dhabi. “Just as the decisions made by people now, impact the future of the capital, visitors will learn how different choices based on our priorities can have major effects on tomorrow’s world. One of TCA Abu Dhabi’s goals is to be a leading sustainable tourism destination. It was for this reason that we opened the exhibition to coincide with the United Nations’ World Tourism Day.” Educative and inspirational, the power of Eco Futures lies in its ability to endow visitors with an experience that prompts the questioning of some of the most important concerns facing humanity today.
