London’s Tapas Scene Gets An Argentinean Infusion
In case you hadn’t heard us mention it before, foodies take note; London has embraced the small plate revolution. Tapas restaurants – as good as the ones you’ll find in Spain – are popping up all over the city. The newest addition to the scene is Marylebone’s Zoilo, an “Argentine Asado” created with love by Argentinean Chef Diego Jacquet and famed restaurateur Alberto Abbate. The space is reminiscent of an airy South American café, with bustling, attentive staff, and the characteristic warmth of Argentina radiating throughout.
Small plates range from chicken empanadas and mackerel escabeche to traditional flank steak and bone marrow. We’d recommend sitting at the downstairs bar that overlooks the open kitchen so you can watch the chefs work their magic and enjoy their vivacious, friendly banter. And what would tapas be without wine? The wine list does not disappoint. The wide selection of bottles from Argentina are mostly available in 375ml carafes, which gives guests the opportunity to sample different wines throughout their meal.
Zoilo is the perfect destination for travelers in town on business or locals looking for the perfect place to enjoy a long catch up with a friend over never-ending plates of delicious food.
