Haute Event: Zarkana Kicks Off with a Foodie Festival at Haze

Zarkana By Cirque Du Soleil Las Vegas Premiere

The newest Cirque du Soleil show sent a buzz through Las Vegas on Friday, Nov.r 9, as Aria hosted a reception at Haze Nightclub in true Cirque fashion, celebrating the premiere of Zarkana. The excitement poured out of the theater and continued into the reception as Cirque performers entertained VIP guests and celebrities throughout the night. Cirque-inspired food, drinks, décor and entertainment (including hors d’ oeuvres served in a whimsical, vintage baby carriage and servers in dresses that dually acted as drink trays as well as costumes) captivated the crowd with a night full of interactive culinary offerings from a variety of the best restaurants from on and off The Strip.

Guests were treated to world-renowned chef Masa Takayama’s delicacy-laden dish, Toro Caviar, from barMASA at Ara. Also from ARIA, James Beard award-winning chef Shawn McClain’s Sage excited taste buds with Kusshi Oysters and Braised Short Ribs; American Fish offered guests Beef Shabu Shabu and Crème Panna Cotta with huckleberry; Sirio Ristorante served up the Maccioni family-favorite, “EGI” Cheese Ravioli; Julian Serrano offered the traditional Spanish, Rabo de Toro; and Jean Georges Steakhouse provided delicious Black Truffle Comte Fritters while the restaurant’s Executive Chef Rob Moore got into the Cirque spirit, welcoming guests in-costume.

Additionally, restaurants from other resorts and off-Strip favorites delighted guests with a variety of dishes. Texas de Brazil sizzled with its marinated flank steak with horseradish mashed potatoes and chimichurri sauce. From MGM Grand, L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon’s Frivolite of Smoked Salmon was a hit. Bellagio’s Sensi served a Thai Coconut Soup. The Pub at Monte Carlo featured its 50/50 Sliders and Rice & Co. from Luxor offered a Crab Mango Cucumber Salad as well as Tenderloin Beef Skewers with crisp red bell pepper, scallions and a savory black pepper sauce.

Mr. Cigars provided guests hand-rolled cigars. Guests enjoyed featured beverages including Leblon Cachaça’s customized Caipirinhas, champagne from Moët et Chandon, a unique vodka-bar experience from Crystal Head Vodka and Deloach Wine by Boisset Winery.
