Haute Event: The Breeder’s Cup Comes to Pasadena

Excitement was in the Pasadena air over the weekend as the 29th annual Breeders’ Cup World Championships took place at Santa Anita Park.

The races began on Friday and finished Saturday evening; the former races totaled $8 million in purse money.  The latter culminated in the $5 million Breeder’s Cup Classic.

Guests who caught the thoroughbred racing tournament included Bo Derek, Jerry O’Connell, Bobby Flay, Brandon Lloyd, Elizabeth Banks, Jarret Stoll, Jeff Carter, Jim Rome, Joe Torre, Kyla Ross, Laura Bell Bundy, Perry Farrell, Stephen Jackson, Ted Habbert and Zane Holtz.

Tony Bennett provided additional entertainment on Saturday afternoon, crooning crowd-pleasing favorites to the haute crowd.
