Haute 100 NY Update: A-Rod Trade Rumors Swirl Again In Wake Of Mets Move
A decision by crosstown rivals the Mets, of all teams, might have Alex Rodriguez sweating it out this week.
The New York Yankees rarely look to the crosstown Mets for inspiration, but some sports commentators think they ought to start following the Mets unloading of slumping outfielder Jason Bay. The Queens team dispensed with Bay despite $21 million remaining on his contract, a move that the Yankees might be wise to emulate with the underperforming Alex Rodriguez.
“Tthis week, the Mets were able to do something the Yankees may well have looked upon with a touch of envy,” wrote ESPN’s Wallace Matthews.
