Dori’s World: Helping with the Sandy Aftermath

My sister Lauren Cooperman and her husband Andrew Beranbom and their daughters Stella and Marlee, went to a church in Red Hook and donated lots of fresh fruit, detergent, soap, toothpaste, batteries, and paper towels and pull-ups. People were extremely thankful and desperate. They bought some of cheese and people were passing them down the line eating while they waited to get into the shelter to get food. Someone actually walked up to the car and asked to take the laundry detergent right there. People really are in need…
