Harvey Nichols Dubai Hosts an Evening of GREAT British Fashion and Food
On 16 October, as part of the GREAT Britain campaign, Harvey Nichols – Dubai hosted the GREAT British Fashion Supper in the gardens of the British Embassy in Dubai. The event showcased a celebration of British creativity and demonstrated how Great Britain is a continuous leader in the realms of fashion and food. The event also presented a fashion show highlighting the Autumn / Winter 2012 British collections available at Harvey Nichols – Dubai and included pieces by Alexander McQueen,Charlotte Olympia, Jimmy Choo, Matthew Williamson, Stella McCartney and Victoria Beckham.
Among those in attendance were British fashion designer Matthew Williamson, whose stunning designs were part of the fashion show, and Michelin-starred chef Gary Rhodes, who was on hand preparing classic British dishes with a twist. Rhodes spoke passionately about what makes British cuisine unique. British Consul General in Dubai, Edward Hobart greeted guests warmly and emphasized how “fashion and food are cornerstones of Britain’s creative industries.”
In celebration of its British heritage, Harvey Nichols – Dubai is supporting the GREAT Britain campaign this month in-store with a spectacular ‘GREAT Britain’-inspired window display. In addition, a unique, British-themed area on Level 2 showcases Harvey Nichols – Dubai’s lineup of British brands as well as features specially sourced British memorabilia to commemorate GREAT Britain in style.
